Getting a tattoo is an adventurous, but not easy thing to do. Among withstanding the pain that is inflicted as they perform the procedure, there are other precautions after. Also, be careful about which tattoo parlors to go to. Whoever you go make sure that they are very intense and serious about the procedures for sterilization and precautions,

After you get your tattoo, it is then your responsibility to take care of it from here on after. As soon as the tattoo artist is done, time yourself. Maker sure that your bandage is on for at least 2 hours before removing and when you do remove it, make sure that you use an antiseptic.

There are five important things to remember for tattoo aftercare.

1. Regularly clean up the tattoo read with some sort of ointment or cream. Do not se anything that has scents or colors when cleaning, it could infect it.

2. Avoid hot tubs for the next two weeks after getting your tattoos. Do not swim anywhere and be weary of getting it wet in the shower. Soap can really mess up your tattoo so make sure it does not get near the tattooed area.

3. If you notice peeling or scabbing, this is normal after a few days. If the scabbing makes you uncomfortable then feel free to remove it with a moist rag (do not rub). Repeat 2-3 times a day.

4. If you notice ithcing, it means that your tattoo is just healing. Do not pick at it or itch it. Gently slapping it will aid in getting rid of the inching temporarily. If you find yourself itching a lot then perhaps getting a lotion would help.

5. Do not expose your tattoo to sun! While showing it off is great, in the sun so soon after getting it is tattooed a good idea. The UV rays can have a damaging affect on your tattoo, which is why to make sure to cover it from the sun.

How To Remove Tattoos Yourself.

TCA (Trichloracetic acid) peels are a cosmetic treatment used to remove fine wrinkles, acne scars, age spots and other skin blemishes and is a very effective method of tattoo removal. A solution containing around 20% TCA is applied directly over the tattoo. This causes a controlled inflammation to the top layers of the skin, which will begin to peel away about a week after the treatment, revealing a new layer, which has formed underneath. With each peel, the ink is gradually broken up and moved toward the surface with the newly formed skin. This new skin will be sensitive for the first few weeks. You will need to wait between 4 and 6 weeks between peels, and protect It from the sun until it is fully healed. If you have darker skin, the treated area may appear lighter after a peel, but will soon return to normal. Tattoo removal creams. Although more expensive than TCA, they offer a gentler alternative, with no discomfort, peeling or scabbing. Depending on which brand you choose, they come as a kit containing either two or three different creams. Applied daily, they gradually fade the tattoo by breaking up the ink, which is then absorbed harmlessly into the body. How long it takes the tattoo to fade away will depend on the color and the depth of the ink. Lighter colors will tend to fade away quicker than darker colors.

In recent years as tattooing has become more popular so has the demand for tattoo removal treatments. There are a number of reasons why someone may want a tattoo removed including a changing body shape which distorts the design or a change of relationships. Often tattoos that look “cool” when young are completely in appropriate as one climbs the age and career ladders. The good news is that for those looking for a tattoo removal treatment is that there is a choice. The bad news is they can be both painful and expensive.

One of the most popular methods of tattoo removal involves laser surgery. The basic idea is that a burst of laser light is directed on to the tattoo which breaks up the ink. Once the ink has broken up the bodies natural skin shedding system will dispose of it. How effective and quickly a design can be removed will depend in part on the colors of the inks used in the tattoo. Dark inks break up reasonably easily but the lighter colors may need several treatments. Again the larger the tattoo the greater number of treatments will be required and this can prove to be expensive.

Another option is to have the tattoo removed by surgical excision which involves having the tattooed skin removed. In the case of a small tattoo the surgeon may be able to suture the skin but in the case of larger designs a skin graft might be requires. Again this can be an expensive option.

Another technique which is not quite so popular these days is Dermabrasion which involves freezing the skin and then abraiding or sanding to remove the design. Great care has to be taken to avoid scaring using this method. Although in fact there is no treatment which can guarantee returning your skin to the state it was before you had the tattoo.

Currently there are a range of tattoo removal creams on the market; some are considerably more effective than others. Often using a cream can be a slow process requiring numerous applications but some people have reported good results using creams.

It should be borne in mind that whatever tattoo removal treatment you decide upon your skin pigmentation will undergo a change. Those having such treatments are often advised to avoid strong sunlight and apply a factored sunscreen to the area of the tattoo site. Tattoo removal can be a long, painful and expensive process and the best advise anyone contemplating having a tattoo is to “think before you ink”.

Getting a tattoo involves deciding on the style you want. One choice is that of getting a single, solid tattoo, or getting a design that is more of a mural design. Often times people become split between just getting something simple, but then also having the desire to go for something more elaborate. The two are very different approaches and choices, and there’s advantages to each, and also a way to combine both.

Single tattoo.

A single tattoo can actually stand out better than an elaborate mural like design. It’s easier visually to pick up on right away, and can pop out more immediately.

It can also do a better job of representing a certain ideal or representation. If you are looking to symbolize something, a single tattoo can do the job in a solid, straight forward manner. If you are looking to tell more of a story, then a mural design may be better.

Mural designs.

Mural designs are more elaborate looking, more complex, and sometimes more striking. They require the eye to settle in and study more closely. Murals are more busy as you have different designs and styles fusing as one.

If you have different styles that you like and different designs you are attracted to, a mural design can be perfect as it can infuse all your favorite tattoo ideas together as one.

Also, if you have more of a story to tell with your representation or symbolism, a mural can do the job that a single tattoo might not be able to do.

Getting Both: Single tattoo and Mural design.

If you have any desires on wanting to get a mural design, but are not ready to put it all together, yet still want to get inked as soon as possible, a great idea is choosing a single tattoo design which can be incorporated into a mural at a later date.

This works out great, as you’ll have your tattoo, which will stand out fine on it’s own, yet will serve as the beginning piece to a work in progress. Once you get your single tattoo design, more ideas will begin to flow on how you can add more pieces and styles on to it.
